Acceptable Use Policy

Derle Pro subscribers can publish a static project from the Derle app to an address on derle.link. This policy governs what may be published there. It applies in addition to the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.

By publishing, you confirm that you have the right to publish everything the site contains and that it complies with this policy and with the law that applies to you.

1. What derle.link is

derle.link serves static files — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images and fonts — uploaded from the Derle app. There is no server-side execution, no database, and no email. Each site is published at a first-level subdomain, for example example.derle.link.

Sites are limited to 5 MB per file, 50 MB per site, 200 files per site, and 10 sites per account. These limits exist so that the service stays a place to publish a project rather than a general purpose file host, and they may change.

2. You are responsible for your site

You are the publisher of your site. Derle hosts the files; it does not review them before they go live and does not adopt, endorse, or verify their contents. Automated screening runs at publish time and rejects some categories outright, but passing that screening is not approval and does not make content acceptable under this policy.

3. What may not be published

You may not publish, link to, or use derle.link to distribute:

  • Sexual content. Pornography, sexually explicit material, and content that sexualises minors in any way. Material sexualising minors is reported to the appropriate authorities and results in immediate and permanent account termination.
  • Deception and impersonation. Sign-in pages, payment forms, or any page that imitates another company, service, bank, or public institution; content presented as coming from someone it does not come from; fake stores, fake giveaways, and fraudulent offers.
  • Malware and attack infrastructure. Viruses, trojans, ransomware, cryptominers, exploit kits, phishing kits, command-and-control endpoints, and pages that attempt to compromise a visitor's device or accounts.
  • Illegal material. Anything unlawful where you are or where it is accessed, including content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other rights you do not hold.
  • Violence and hate. Content that incites violence, promotes terrorism, or attacks people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
  • Harassment and privacy violations. Targeting an individual, publishing someone's private information without their consent, or non-consensual intimate imagery.
  • Regulated and dangerous goods. Sale or facilitation of drugs, weapons, stolen credentials, counterfeit goods, or forged documents.
  • Service abuse. Using a site primarily as a file host, media host, download mirror, proxy, or content delivery network for material not part of that site; deliberately generating disproportionate traffic or storage cost.

4. Reporting a site

Anyone can report a published site — you do not need a Derle account. Use the form at derle.link/abuse or write to abuse@derle.app, including the full address of the site and what is wrong with it.

Reports are reviewed and acted on. Where a report concerns a legal claim such as copyright, tell us enough to identify the material and your basis for the claim.

5. What happens when a site breaks this policy

A site may be taken down without notice. Its files are deleted, and the address stops resolving.

An address that has been taken down is retired: it is not returned to the pool and cannot be claimed again, including by the person who published it. This is deliberate — an address that has appeared in a report or a blocklist should not be handed to someone else.

Repeated or severe violations end publishing access, and may end the Derle account. Where the law requires it, we report content to the relevant authority.

6. Availability

Publishing is a feature of a paid subscription, but the hosting itself is provided as-is, with no uptime commitment and no guarantee that a published address will remain available. Do not use derle.link for anything that has to stay up.

We may remove a site, change the limits in Section 1, or discontinue publishing entirely, and will give reasonable notice where we can.

7. Changes

This policy may change. The effective date above shows when it was last updated, and continued use of publishing after a change means the new version applies.
